I don't know that motor - but if it is based on the early 50 and 70 cc engines - the transmission oil and the crankcase oil are common -
I cannot think that 2 ounces of oil would work for a transmission - is the transmission a 3 speed - like the units on the CT 70's?
I would talk to a mechanic asap - something goofy going on here- that just doesn't seeem like enough oil and a grinding noise at hight speed sounds like something is running dry at higher rpm
